Why this site exists

People from France heading to Canada easily find expat stories and general information, but far fewer precise answers to their practical questions: how much will I take home in Toronto? Which taxes do I charge a client in Quebec? What will this road trip really cost once taxes and tips are added?

FranceCanada exists to close that gap. We systematically compare what you know in France with what awaits you in Canada, and we favour calculators and official sources over generic articles.

The site was written in French first. This English edition covers the same pillars, tools and key guides, for English speakers, mixed-language families and anyone who prefers to read in English.

Who it is for

  • Businesses and professionals exporting, selling online or setting up in Canada;
  • People moving to Canada: Working Holiday participants, employees, students, families;
  • Travellers planning a trip or a road trip.

Who publishes this site

FranceCanada is published by FranceCanada, in British Columbia (Canada). The publisher’s full details are in the legal notice.

How we work

Every guide lists its sources and the date it was checked. Our tools publish their method and limits. Our editorial policy explains how we check, update and correct our content.

The site is free and carries no ads. It earns commissions from some referral codes and Amazon.ca links, always labelled “Partner link”; our policy on commercial links explains which ones and what a partner cannot buy.
